Laura Livingston and Mike Durkin are the founders of Freestyle Repertory Theatre, which has brought improvisational theatre to children and families since 1988. Recently, they have taught Shakespeare at Spoke the Hub, and improv residencies at PS 321, PS 124, PS 107, PS 212, Central Park East High School and the High School for Law and Public Service. Livingston trained in acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in Bristol, England and in NYC with Uta Hagen. Durkin trained at the Neighborhood Playhouse. Both pursue acting, directing and play writing careers, most notably at the Gallery Players and at the Obie-award-winning Metropolitan Playhouse.
